Wondering why plants?

I love plants. Nature is life, and without it we wouldn’t be able to survive. Plants provide us with oxygen to breathe, food, and shade. Plants, like humans, are living beings and live in an ecosystem. They need other elements to survive, such as light, soil, nutrients, water, and sun. Plants are connected to other parts and thrive when in equilibrium. Humans and families are not much different. Families are interdependent and operate as an emotional unit.

*Using plants as depictions instead of people is also to remain neutral and ensure I am inclusive of all genders, races, and types of consensual relationships.

My Objective:

“To empower clients to use their thinking and insight to create better relationships, improve communication, and develop realistic expectations. Hello and welcome to my practice.”

I’m Dr.Olivia Schläpfer Colmer, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 18 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I see clients virtually (video or phone) all over the state of Georgia, Florida, and New York.

I provide therapeutic services to individuals seeking positive change, deeper insight, and guidance in their personal and professional lives, as well as in their significant relationships. I welcome individuals, couples, and families of all genders, relationship structures, and sexual orientations. Confidentiality, respect, and emotional safety are fundamental principles of my practice.

RELATIONSHIPS ARE COMPLEX

My goal as a therapist is to provide a supportive, safe, and interactive environment where we explore unresolved conflicts together and find new ways to break relationship patterns that keep you stuck. Improving your relationships and better coping with your challenges – the foundation for creating long-lasting change – requires a shift in context, perspective, and how you define your relationships.

“My passion is to help you recognize your full potential, achieve your personal goals, and enhance your relationships.”

Relationships are multifaceted, and every person, couple, and family experiences challenges along the way. Many relationship dynamics can be difficult. Here are some areas and challenges that invite people to seek therapy:

Communication and Trust Issues

Anxiety and Stress

Infidelity

Parenting and Stepparenting

Separation or Divorce

Blended Families

Family of Origin

Professional and Personal Unfulfillment

Lack of Sexual Intimacy

Managing In-laws

Financial Stress

The demands and pressures of family life, a career, and the pursuit of personal fulfillment can be challenging for anyone. Working with a therapist who understands your situation and has the experience to guide you in resolving your concerns effectively—while helping you discover new solutions and a deeper sense of meaning in your life—is essential for successful therapy.
